The research project was devoted to study the basic needs of people affected by the military conflict, as well as assessing the humanitarian aid provided by international organizations.
One of the objectives of the project was to identify unmet needs – in food, non-food products, in education, medical services and psychological support.
The research was conducted among the residents of Merefyanska Hromada, Krasnogradska Hromada and Bohodukhivska Hromada of Kharkiv Oblast.
The research design included qualitative and quantitative stages: 2 focus groups and a population survey.
Totally, 270 respondents were interviewed, 90 people in each hromada.
The result of the study was an understanding of the resident’s basic needs, including safety, physical and mental health, education, employment, medical care, psychological support and the study of issues of social adaptation of internally displaced persons.
Project participants provided information on humanitarian and financial assistance from international organizations.
The results of the project were used to form a strategy for providing assistance to persons affected by the military conflict.
